Assessments
OTs can provide Standardised assessments that look into motor skills, functional capability and sensory processing. Assessments are best used to support diagnoses reports, NDIS funding reviews and additional support at school. All assessments are provided with a report and feedback session.
Motor Skills
Does your child have delayed motor skills? Do they struggle with handwriting or find it difficult to run or catch a ball? An OT can support the development of these skills through 1:1 sessions.
Emotional Regulation
Does your child have difficulty expressing their emotions? Do they go from 0-100 or show little reaction at all? OT can support the development of your child's emotional regulation.
Sensory
Does your child become overwhelmed in busy environments or will run from unexpected noises? Does your child avoid having to brush their hair or will only like to wear certain clothes? Things like this as well as other behaviours may mean that your child needs support with their sensory needs. OT can provide support with this through assessment and 1:1 support with your child and family.
Occupational Therapists strive to support your child through the struggles they might face through day to day life. This might include sensory difficulties, fine motor control including handwriting, gross motor and movement, emotional regulation and social skills. Their aim is to promote the development of independence with your child as well as providing parent support to help you help your child.
