Rhyming is a phonological awareness skill, that is fundamental to literacy, including reading, writing, manipulating sounds and words.
 
Rhyming is generally the first phonological awareness skills that children will learn, on their way to becoming skilled and competent readers, writers and learners. This generally happens around 3-4 years old.

Three sections:
Rhyming pairs – The aim is for the child to identify whether the two words rhyme, or not.
Odd one out – A step up from rhyming pairs, here the child has to identify which word does not rhyme, which word is the odd one out.
Let’s get rhyming –Consolidating the learnings, where the child has to identify the rhymes, then generate a new rhyme.
